El pasado domingo 29 de marzo, Aitor Uribarri, aislado desde hacía 17 días, alejado de su familia, amigos y compañeros de trabajo, dio un grito de felicidad cuando le comunicaron el resultado de su segundo test: volvía a ser negativo. La confirmación de que en su cuerpo ya no había rastro de la Covid-19 supuso para el cardiólogo, de 36 años y natural de Orense, un alivio más que justificado. Por suerte su sintomatología fue bastante leve, y desde el primer momento ya tenía ganas de volver a trabajar. De hecho, al día siguiente de dar negativo por segunda vez, se reincorporó a su puesto de trabajo en el Hospital Clínico de Valladolid, donde ejerce desde hace un año. Allí, tras ser recibido con entusiasmo por sus compañeros, le comentan entre bromas que "se van a rifar su sangre para hacerse una transfusión".
"Cuando me llamaron, incluso pegué un grito en casa de felicidad. Era una manera de liberar la tensión porque, desgraciadamente, los sanitarios siempre tendemos a pensar que vamos a ir mal y muchas veces no es así", comenta el sanitario. Con respecto a los síntomas que le hicieron saber que estaba infectado, Aitor Uribarri afirma que empezó con tos seca, "pero era al principio de la pandemia y no le di más importancia. Tres días después, me subió la fiebre y ya no fui al hospital, llamé a mis compañeros y les dije que creía que estaba infectado. Me hicieron el test y di positivo". Hasta ahora, 17 días después, donde ha vuelto a casa con su mujer (aunque manteniendo una distancia de 2 metros por precaución) y a batallar en primera línea esta crisis de la Covid-19 que se está cebando especialmente con el personal sanitario.
